Technology has become easily accessible to almost all households and schools. Laptops, tablets, I-Pads are all means which allow learners to engage in activities and tasks which are more interesting when done digitally, that are common in the utilization for research, presentations, and questions for students today. Utilizing technology in classes does not restrict students to one specific learning style. Thus it provides a fair chance to those students who prefer learning through mediums such as videos, audio files or digital hands-on tasks. Online and digital learning options offer significant opportunities for collaboration as students have the opportunity to interact with people all over the world whilst developing their academic knowledge and skills .Furthermore, students can research the real issues happening around the globe that are related to the classroom curriculum. This helps students understand that the lesson being taught refers to real problems, people and events.
ConclusionSo, does technology get in the way of learning?. As beneficial and convenient as it is, technology comes with its own set of drawbacks, all of which affect either our physical, mental or social health. Using technology in a moderate and disciplined manner can benefit a student’s learning and understanding without causing tremendous amounts of damage later on in their lives.

Increasing amounts of work and assigning through digital mediums are given for independent study . Also, children who more often rely on their devices have a restricted imagination and the ability to think critically and innovatively as they constantly refer to the internet.
Each electronic device emits radiation in one way or another. In some electronic devices, the radiation is much higher compared to others. Constantly looking down at a cell phone or computer screen may lead to headaches even neck and back pain in some cases. The longer the duration of the usage of these devices the more intensive the pain may be. The aches, pain combined with stress can disrupt students’ sleep patterns. Glued to a device all day does not encourage any exercise or physical activity which could lead to a serious amount of health problems. written by : Samuel Dsouza (9C)
